Many are the test submitted to our ecoleathers, starting with the traditional abrasion and rubbing resistance test until the more sofisticated Flame and Hydrolysis test.
In this article we introduce 2 of the most common and meanwhile fundamental test that each ecoleather on the market has to be tested before, the Crockmeter Test Dry & Wet and Martindale Test
CROCKMETER TEST
This dry and wet test determines the color stability of the eco-leather against rubbing and its value is expressed in relation to the gray scale.
MARTINDALE TEST
This test determines the resistance to abrasion and evaluates any deterioration or variation of the coating surface appearance like pilling (formation of “dotted pile”), color changes and weight loss.
