Linea Pelle 2019 between Natural and Eco-friendly.

During the third week of February, Milan held a 3-day international event dedicated to leathers, accessories, components, synthetic, fabrics and models for footwear, leather goods, clothing and furniture sectors.
More than 1,300 exhibitors (including over 800 Italian) attended the event “LINEA PELLE 2019which is dedicated to the summer 2020.
An edition with lots of lights but also a bit of shadows.
Surely we are struck by the huge offer in terms of colors, materials and applications that the world of leather, and especially Faux Leather, is able to offer to the market.
Two of the key words of this season seem to be “Natural” and “Sustainability”, and when it comes to this two words Faux Leather can let his voice be heard loud.
The other side of the coin is the feeling that there is no well-defined trend that can support customer choices, but rather a wide offer that wants to revitalize a market that for various reasons (from the European elections to the US-China custom duties war) lives a nebulous and transitory phase.

In these last editions we noticed a progressive change in the type of audience that attend this event, a public that is increasingly characterized by Designers and Stylists and less by Industrialists and large Distributors. This may partly coincide with the fact that Linea Pelle, in recent years, has been taking place in concomitance or close to important fashion events ( once for all the Milan fashion week which takes place in February and September).

In the 2019 edition, the presence of Italian and European exhibitors was more and more predominant to the detriment of Far East world.
We had the clear impression of a sort of rebirth of ideas coming from European producers and the strong will to develop new concepts and quality designs in Europe.
We will not let you go without giving you some clues of what seems to be the trend for this 2020, from fluorescent colors to patterns, such as floral aspects.
